Bridge Pottery
Bridge Pottery is set in a beautiful environment, with the Burry Pill flowing through the garden on its way out to the estuary.
It attracts lovers of pots, potters and pottery students from all over the world.
The place itself is very special, and life at Bridge Pottery is absorbing and ever changing, a busy, demanding but fulfilling place to work.
I am committed to sharing my skills and the potential of the Pottery. In 2001 built a larger 2.75 cu.m cross-draft kiln, with the intention of creating more space in the kiln and to offer opportunities for other potters to work alongside me. At present Fleen Doran is working here as an apprentice and assistant, she has recently arrived, having just completed her degree at Cardiff University.
We grow vegetables as organically as possible, baring in mind that the weather is ideal for rearing slugs! We also have a tree planting project unedrway and have a planting week every winter.
We have just completed the rebuilding of the studios. They are now very well insulated and designed to work well and be easily adapted.
There are two making studios that easily become one for courses. We also have a clay room with pugmills and extruder.
The images make it look like a cold place. In fact we are so near the sea that we rarely get any snow. When we do I am quick to go out and take photos!
